Quiz Night 2026

Osborne is the place where Prince Albert really exercised his interests in gardening. He inherited gardens at Windsor Castle and Buckingham Palace, and Balmoral was much more about countryside pursuits. This talk will explore some of the constraints and the need for efficiencies Prince Albert experienced and how the garden at Osborne became the sole place he could really develop 'his own' garden. Visit to Windsor Castle

Saturday 19th September 2026

Following the success of last year’s Buckingham Place trip with Opal Travel, a visit to Windsor Castle is planned.

The trip will include coach and ferry travel and entry into Windsor Castle. Members will have the opportunity to visit the State Apartments, Queen Mary’s Doll’s House and St. George’s Chapel . Allow about 1 and a half hours to 2 hours. There will be the opportunity to wander around the grounds and also Windsor town before heading back to Southampton to catch the ferry.

Cost £65.
