New Newsletter Format . . .
Chairman’s Message
Welcome to the new and improved format of our monthly newsletter.
With over 1050 monthly newsletters sent by email each month to members, both old and new, a new more user-friendly format has been produced. Most emails are now opened on mobile devices and the new format, in the form of a scrolling e-mail with appropriate links to further information, is designed with that in mind.
The newsletter will be based around four main categories, the Chairman’s Message, Recent Events, Upcoming Events, News from Osborne and the Library.
Hopefully you will find this new format easier to use while still providing you with the information you require about our activities.
Following a summer break in August, our programme of autumn fundraising events is now underway. This month we have three events; last week we held our annual quiz which raised over £450; this week, on Friday, Toby is giving a talk in the Education Room on Prince Albert, The Gardener – places are still available; and on Saturday, 50 members and guests are visiting Windsor Castle. Further details of these and other upcoming events can be found below.

Friday 18th September.
A talk: ‘Prince Albert, the Gardener’ by Toby Beasley.
Osborne is the place where Prince Albert really exercised his interests in gardening. He inherited gardens at Windsor Castle and Buckingham Palace, and Balmoral was much more about countryside pursuits. Keep Reading

Plant Sale
Having wandered around the wonderful grounds and gardens, you may feel inspired to create similar spaces in your own gardens! There is a large selection of plants and garden ornaments for sale outside of the Petty Officer's Quarters as you leave. Remember FoO members can get a 10% discount by showing their membership cards when paying. |
