Come and join us once again for this event on Saturday 5th August, timed for the end of Cowes Week.
Enjoy the beautiful views of the landscaped grounds and the planted beds. A chance to enjoy the sights and peaceful sounds of Osborne, once the public have left, making it a truly magical place. It is open to all Friends and their guests, on pre-payment. This is an adult only event.
From the main car park, move to the entrance of the Petty Officers’ Quarters to be checked in.
Friends and guests will be allowed through the Green Gate after 6.20 pm, to allow for arrival not before 6.30 pm.
The gathering will be outdoors on The Terrace opposite the restaurant and restricted to that level. The restaurant will be reserved for use in case of bad weather.
The ticket price of £35 will include a selection of delicious hot and cold canapés including Smoked salmon Blinis with cream cheese, Mushroom Pate on toast, Mini vegetable spring rolls with chilli dipping sauce and Cocktail sausages with honey and mustard. Dietary requirements will be catered for – please indicate on your booking form. Drinks will include Pimm’s, wine and soft drinks.
It is hoped to showcase the recent purchase by the Friends of Osborne of two period costumes for use on tours by English Heritage.

Tuesday, 15th August – ‘Conservation of the Royal Collection at Osborne’

Emma Hallums and Kirsty Huggett who are responsible for the Conservation of the Royal Collection will talk about their role as collection conservation assistants and how they care for the collection at Osborne and other sites in the South East. It is a fascinating insight into how the Royal Collection is cleaned and the ways it needs to be protected from light, humidity, bugs and pests!
