Picnic at Swiss Cottage - 2019

On a balmy summer evening, forty three members and guests gathered with their picnics in the tranquil surroundings of the orchard at Swiss Cottage.

Unfortunately, Theresa, the harpist who was going to play for us, sustained a nasty gash to her leg whilst setting up her equipment which resulted in her being rushed off to A and E.  We are most grateful to Leah and Douglas from English Heritage for administering first aid and for organising Theresa’s transportation to hospital.  They also provided us with the substitute background classical music which added to the ambiance of a most enjoyable evening.  A raffle was held during the evening and a total of £416 was raised for the Friends of Osborne Charity

Following Theresa’s accident at the Picnic at Swiss Cottage she kindly offered to play for us later in the year.  Members who had attended the picnic were invited to attend a recital in our rooms in October when Allison performed an eclectic mix of classical and contemporary pieces.  At the end of the evening Theresa offered members the chance to try her beautiful harp for themselves.
