Talk by Stephan Roman Thursday 6th October at 10.30 am Isle and Empires: Romanov Russia, Britain and the Isle of Wight
Stephan will give a fascinating talk about his book which will include his thoughts on Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. Stephan feels Putin has clearly revealed his intentions to create a new Russian Empire, and explains the ideological and historic links between the Tsars and Putin in his talk.
‘Isle and Empires: Romanov Russia, Britain and the Isle of Wight’ shows the intriguing role the Isle of Wight plays in the story. At the heart of the book is the 1909 visit of Tsar Nicholas II and the Imperial Family to the Isle of Wight for Cowes Week, the most glamourous yachting regatta in Europe. The talk will be about 45-50 minutes followed by fifteen minutes of questions.

This talk will take place in the new Education Rooms off the courtyard.
