The Isle of Wight Embroiderers was formed as a new group in 2008 and currently have about 70 members. They meet monthly at Arreton where they run a programme of workshops and speakers.
In 2019 they received funding from the National Lottery Community Fund. This has enabled them to go out into the community to encourage people to enjoy stitching. They have kindly agreed to run two workshops for our members.
In the first of the two sessions they hope to teach some simple basic stitches which participants can practice, if they don’t already know them. Using these stitches members will then go on to produce a small panel similar to the one shown above. When finished this could be made into a picture or a small bag. All materials will be provided and equipment loaned for the duration of the course.
